On Instagram, Willie Nelson, 88, shared the sad news with a message from his family. "Bobbie Nelson, Beloved Pianist, Musician, and Author, Passes Away," the post begins.
"Her elegance, grace, beauty and talent made this world a better place. She was the first member of Willie's band, as his pianist and singer.
"Our hearts are broken and she will be deeply missed. But we are so lucky to have had her in our lives," the Nelsons wrote.
The tribute came with a nice photo of Willie and Bobbie together. They were both born in Abbott, Texas, in the 1930s, Bobbie two years before her younger brother Willie.
To conclude their announcement, the Nelsons asked: "Please keep her family in your thoughts and give them the privacy they need at this time."
