Fans of Elton John, 74, are very concerned after the star musician recently backed out of several performances. Elton is suffering from major hip problems after a fall in the summer, which has led to the cancellations.

Elton John health update: Major hip problems

As part of his concert cancellation, Elton John announced: "At the end of my summer break I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since."

Despite intensive physiotherapy and specialized treatment, the pain for Elton has worsened and led to greater and greater difficulty moving.

Recently, the 74-year-old joined the British talk show Lorraine, where he spoke with Charlie Puth about their song "After All." He also gave a health update while explaining his decision to postpone parts of his tour.

The pop star stated: "I wouldn't be 100% fit, I wouldn't be 100% confident, because I'm in pain most of the time with my hip. I can't move sideways, can't get in and out of a car, and the decision had to be made."

Elton John remains confident about touring again

John admits he doesn't know if his hips could've withstood the last year and a half on tour. He was doubtful, which is why he decided to have an operation.

However, the "Bennie and the Jets" singer is confident about his recovery. "I'll make it up to you and I'll be in much better shape," he promised to his worried fans.

We hope to see Sir Elton on stage again soon. This last round of health-related cancellations follows the singer's bout with pneumonia in 2020.
