Haim has shared a new version of one of their tracks that sees them add the vocals of a famous friend! As People shares, the Los Angeles-based indie band— which is made up of sisters Danielle, Este, and Alana Haim— released a brand-new take on their song "Gasoline" on Thursday, which features none other than Taylor Swift!

Haim shares how reimagined "Gasoline" with Swift came about

Haim took to social media to talk about why they decided to team up with Swift to create a new version of "Gasoline". The song originally appeared on their GRAMMY-nominated 2020 album Women in Music Pt. III, and they said that Swift had loved the track from the start!

"since we released wimpiii in june, taylor had always told us that gasoline was her favorite," the band said of the newly released track on Instagram the day of its release. "so when we were thinking about ways to reimagine some of the tracks from the record, we immediately thought of her."

Haim then went on to praise Swift for her contributions to the new version of the track. They mentioned that she "brought such amazing ideas and new imagery to the song and truly gave it a new life," thanking her for "adding your incredible voice and spirit" to "Gasoline". The three sisters have been friends with Swift for years, and even opened for her 1989 World Tour in 2015!

Swift also featured Haim on one of the tracks on her album evermore. The sisters provided backing vocals for "no body, no crime," a country song Swift penned about getting revenge on her friend "Este's" cheating husband— the name a nod to the oldest Haim sister! With the release of this new version of "Gasoline," there's no doubt that fans of both Haim and Swift will be excited to see the four women team up again!
