Thomas Luther Bryan was born and raised in Leesburg, Georgia, on July 17th, 1976. His father was a peanut farmer and he grew up with his mom and 2 older siblings. Although his parents were never musicians themselves, Bryan always had a large infatuation with music. His main influences were country singers George Strait and Merle Haggard.

By the age of 14, Bryan's parents had bought him his first guitar. He was a quick learner and soon began to start singing and playing with his own band that he started. He also participated in his high school musicals and choir for even more practice.

Tragedy Struck For Luke Bryan's Brother

Bryan's initial dream after graduating high school was to head to Nashville to pursue his musical career. However, his older brother was tragically killed in a car accident, which prompted him to stay in Georgia with his family.

He ended up attending Georgia Southern University where he received his bachelor's degree in business administration. During his time in college, Bryan would rekindle with his future wife, Caroline Boyer. The two have been married since 2006 and have two sons together.

Luke Bryan: Starting His Career

It wasn't until 2001 that Bryan moved to Nashville, where he performed in local bars with his own music. Luckily for Bryan, an A&R rep from Capital Records saw him performing one night, and the next day he was signed onto the mega record label.

This includes the Country Music Association's (CMA's) 'Entertainer of the Year' award and in 2020, the CMT Music Award for 'CMT Performance of the Year', where he and Jason Derulo won together.
