Princess Diana's Brother Posts Sweet Photo Of Them Together As Children

Charles Spencer shared a rarely-seen childhood photo with his sister Princess Diana this week. The Earl commemorated his late sister on his birthday, which fell the same day a report was released on Diana's BBC interview. He posted a cute picture of the two on social media.

When Princess Diana died on Aug. 31, 1997, the whole world stopped to mourn the beloved People's Princess.

Her young sons Prince William and Prince Harry suffered from the terrible loss, and Diana's brother Charles Spencer also struggled with the death of his sister — the two had a close relationship.

For his birthday on May 20, Charles Spencer posted a never-before-seen picture of himself and Diana as children, remembering his sister. His birthday also overlapped with the release of a report on Diana's controversial BBC interview.

The black-and-white snapshot posted by Diana's brother shows the two siblings in childhood during a happy day together. Charles smiles mischievously into the camera, while Diana appears more thoughtful.

With the cute throwback photo, Charles Spencer wrote: "Some bonds go back a very long way."

The 57-year-old still holds memories of his sister close to his heart. The siblings were two of five children born to their parents, who divorced when Diana and Charles were young. In an interview with The Sunday Times, he revealed that the separation was very difficult for the kids.

Princess Diana would have turned 60 this July. Her sons William and Harry are still expected to reunite at Kensington Palace to unveil a statue of their late mother on her birth anniversary.
