Duchess Kate and Dr. Jill Biden recently bonded over the importance of children's education during a special event! As People reports, Friday saw the Duchess of Cambridge and the First Lady of the United States meet while visiting Connor Downs Academy, a preschool in Cornwall, England.

Kate and Biden say students were quiet upon their arrival

Kate and Biden certainly stepped out in style for their landmark first engagement together! Kate was seen wearing a berry coloured Alexander McQueen dress, while Jill wore a white dress paired with a hot pink blazer and a string of pearls. Both ladies accessorized with nude heels and wore face masks.

According to People, the preschool's head said the children were "quite aware of" who Kate and Biden are, "and obviously incredibly excited" the two women were coming to their class! Kate called it "the quietest class I've ever been to," with Biden jokingly saying that the preschoolers were "scared to death" by their presence.

Kate and Biden then sat in on the day's lessons, chatting with the young students about their various activities. They even had the opportunity to bring carrots to the school's rabbits. The two women also took part in an important conversation during their visit to Connor Downs Academy!

After a Q&A session where Kate was asked about meeting baby Lilibet, she and Biden hosted a roundtable discussion. Biden said the kids they'd met were "so inspiring and so well-behaved," going on to mention how "early childhood education is so important to lay the foundations of all of our students."
