Kate Middleton spoke to ITV's This Morning on Thursday, May 7, about the launch of her "Hold Still" campaign. During the interview, she touched on the struggles that many parents of young children are facing at this time.

"It's hard to explain to a five- and nearly six- or seven-year-old what's going on," she told Phillip and Holly of This Morning.

Prince William and Duchess Kate are at Anmer Hall

The Duchess admitted to struggles with finding a balance between keeping her children informed and not overly frightening them.

The kids, Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, are all at the family's current home in Anmer Hall, Norfolk.

Kate had previously made similar comments, saying that: "George is much older than Louis is, but they are aware, I'm always surprised. And although you don't want to scare them and make it too overwhelming, I think it is appropriate to acknowledge it in the simple ways and age-appropriate ways."

Another way the Duchess of Cambridge is keeping her kids informed is through regular calls with family members.

"We hadn't done a huge amount of FaceTime and face calls and things like that [before], but obviously we're doing that a lot more now, and actually it's been really great," Kate shared with This Morning.

"We try and check in daily with family members and speak to them about news and things like that, and in some ways I suppose we've got a lot more face time than perhaps we would have done before but it is difficult."

Likewise, safely executed community service has also kept the kids busy. The children were spotted in the family's "Clap for Our Carers" video, where even Louis got in on the expression of gratitude for essential workers who continue their duties during the health crisis.

In addition, as part of her 5th birthday Instagram post, Charlotte is seen delivering food packages to elderly locals.
