Prince William Celebrates End of Super League Proposal

Football fans all over have been enraged by the European Super League that was just announced on Sunday. The move would mean 12 of the most successful (and most wealthy) including "The Big Six" would be separating from the UEFA.

Immediately the move was met with intense backlash, from fans, players, and entire clubs. Even Boris Johnson and Prince William, the President of the Football Association chimed in. The Duke of Cambridge personally Tweeted:

"Now, more than ever, we must protect the entire football community – from the top level to the grassroots – and the values of competition and fairness at its core. I share the concerns of fans about the proposed Super League and the damage it risks causing to the game we love. W."

The backlash was so quick and widespread that half of the clubs to be a part of the Super League. The clubs were all English, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all confirmed by Tuesday that they withdrew from the ESL. Four more clubs are expected to follow, leaving only 2 teams involved, essentially killing the proposed "Super League."

The Duke of Cambridge quickly took to Twitter to celebrate the preservation of his favorite sport. "I'm glad the united voice of football fans has been heard and listened to."

The Duke has been heavily involved in football, attending games, drumming up support, and creating the Heads Up campaign to promote and normalize the importance of mental health. Countless major football teams and his own brother Prince Harry have promoted his noble campaign.

So the Prince, along with his millions of fellow football fans are celebrating the preservation of their coveted sport.
