The Royal Family has sent out their Father's Day greetings for today's holiday.

This year, however, their tributes were more bittersweet than usual, seeing as Prince Philip died just two months ago. The late patriarch of the Royal Family features front and centre in the royal Father's Day messages for 2021.

Royal Family Father's Day 2021 tributes: After Prince Philip

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla shared a particularly poignant tribute today, with several photos of them with their late fathers.

"To all Papas everywhere, and to those who may be missing their Dads today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special Father's Day," they wrote.

Duchess Camilla's father Bruce Shand died back in 2006, while Prince Charles lost his father Prince Philip at age 99 earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II shared a tribute capturing three generations and fathers close to her heart. The 1951 throwback shows Princess Elizabeth with her father King George VI, her husband Prince Philip, and a young Prince Charles.

With the nice photo, taken at Balmoral in 1951, the Royal Family wrote: "To all dads everywhere, we wish you a very special Father's Day."

Finally, Prince William and Duchess Kate shared a creative animated greeting for Father's Day. The clip assembles a message with photos paying tribute to Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Michael Middleton (Kate's father).

The photo of Prince Philip shows him and the Queen with all their great-grandchildren. The never-before-seen picture was released shortly after the Duke died on April 9.

Duchess Meghan also spoke today to NPR about her new children's book, and she included a message for Father's Day on Archewell.com:

"On this Father's Day, we celebrate you: those who lead by example, who lead with love, and who recognize that the dad you are for your son today, defines the man he becomes tomorrow," Meghan wrote.

From all of us to the dads out there, happy Father's Day!
