Lord Vestey, Friend Of Royal Family, Dies Weeks After Wife Lady Celia Vestey
Lord Samuel Vestey has passed away at age 79 just weeks after the death of his wife, Lady Celia Vestey. The couple was close to the British Royal Family, with Lord Vestey having served as Master of the Horse to Queen Elizabeth II and Lady Vestey having been the godmother of Prince Harry. The death of Lord Vestey was announced on Feb. 4, while his wife passed on Nov. 28, 2020.
Lord Samuel Vestey, a royal courtier and wealthy British businessman, has passed away at age 79. The sad news comes just two months after the loss of his wife, Lady Celia Vestey, who died at 73 in November.

Lord Vestey was one of the "closest friends" of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, according to Hello!. He served as Master of the Horse to the Queen from 1999 to 2018 and was know to be a part of her "racing circle," regularly being photographed in close company with the royals.
He was also one of the wealthiest men in Britain, having served as chairman with Vestey Holdings, the food business that's been in the Vestey family since the 19th century. He received several honours from the Queen over the years, including being appointed KCVO, GCVO, and a Lord-in-waiting to the Queen in 2019.
Lord Vestey dies weeks after wife Lady Celia Vestey
In 1984, Prince Charles and Princess Diana chose Lord Vestey's wife, Lady Celia Vestey, to be a godmother of Prince Harry. She sadly passed away on Nov. 28, 2020. At the time, The Daily Telegraph wrote: "Celia Elizabeth SRN BA. Died suddenly, but peacefully, on Saturday 28th November, aged 71 years. Adored wife of Sam. Much loved mother of William, Arthur and Mary and loving Granny of Ella, Frankie, Sam and Cosima."
Lady Celia Vestey was Lord Vestey's second wife and they were married for nearly 40 years. Now, nine weeks after Lady Vestey's death, Lord Vestey has also passed away. No cause of death has been released at this time. Lord and Lady Vestey are survived by three children and four grandchildren.
