Meghan Markle may still be getting accustomed to her post-"Megxit" life out in Vancouver, but she's been in good company during the adjustment period!

In a People exclusive, we've learned that even as Prince Harry initially had to be overseas attending to the last of his duties as a senior royal, the Duchess of Sussex was joined in her new Canadian coastal home by none other than her mother, Doria Ragland!

"Meghan had friends and her mom around while Harry remained in England,” an unnamed source revealed to People. An anonymous friend of Markle's also added, "She definitely gets a lot of her strength from her mother".

Meghan and mom Doria: a tight-knit mother-daughter bond

Meghan Markle has been fortunate enough to have constant support from her mother Doria, who lives in Los Angeles and works as both a social worker and yoga instructor!

Ragland has been by Markle's side through her daughter's transitions into both royal life and motherhood, and remains steadfast in her devotion as Markle enters yet another new phase in her life. Ragland reportedly says of Markle that "Meghan is strong and will always be okay,” according to People's unnamed source.

Those who know both Meghan Markle and Doria Ragland can see where the Duchess of Sussex's influence comes from. A "royal family friend" of Markle's who became acquainted with Ragland during the royal wedding described Ragland as having "a softness, but I detected a steely core to her".

That description sounds not unlike Markle, who has a gentle disposition but has also proven herself to be strong-willed and independent. “She and Meghan are so close,” an anonymous friend said of Markle's tight bond with Ragland. “Harry really gets on well with her too."
