Meghan Markle's latest business venture sees her continuing to show up for women while also supporting local! As Entertainment Tonight confirms, Fortune exclusively shared on Monday that the Duchess of Sussex has invested in a California-based natural drink company.
Meghan's new investment is her first to be made public
Meghan has chosen to financially invest in Clevr Blends, a company headed by CEO Hannah Mendoza that produces instant oat milk lattes. As Entertainment Tonight shares, the business isn't far from Meghan's new home in Santa Barbara. And since this news marks the first time she's announced details of a personal investment to the public since becoming financially independent, it's especially noteworthy!
"This investment is in support of a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritizes building community alongside her business," the Duchess of Sussex said in a statement, explaining why she chose to put her money towards Clevr Blends. "I’m proud to invest in Hannah’s commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating a product that I personally love and has a holistic approach to wellness. I believe in her and I believe in her company."
Meghan sends gift basket from latte company to Oprah
Meghan has already started sharing the product from the company she's newly invested in with some famous friends! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Oprah Winfrey revealed on Instagram that the Duchess of Sussex had gifted her a basket of goodies from Clevr Blends just in time for the holidays— and she's already a fan!
"On the first day of Christmas my neighbor "M" sent to me...a basket of deliciousness! (Yes that M)," Winfrey wrote alongside a video of her showing off the latte mixes, including a crown emoji to hint at the royal connection. "My new drink of choice for the morning and night. Wish I had @clevrblends sooner cause I would’ve added it to my Favorite Things list."
Since moving to California in the summer, Meghan has become more outspoken when it comes to political matters— even voting in the United States election— and continued her activism by supporting causes close to her heart. The Duchess of Sussex has been part of many virtual summits having to do with female empowerment, and recently made her first public appearance since revealing the news of her miscarriage through a powerful essay she penned.
