Summer is coming to an end, and the Danish royal family has shared some new pictures on their social media accounts: a cute picture of Prince Frederik of Denmark alongside his wife Mary and their four children.

"And so another summer comes to an end. All six of us enjoyed it around Denmark, and here on this year's last summer day we send a late summer greeting,"  the caption reads for the new photos on the official Instagram page of the Danish royals.

Princess Mary's children are all grown up

The first picture in the amazing photo series shows the royal family together outside the Fredensborg Chancellery House. This is followed by a snapshot of Princess Mary of Denmark and Frederik, a picture of the two sons Christian (14) and Vincent (9), and a photo of the princesses Isabella (13) and Josephine (9).

What is so great about the pictures, is that they actually do not seem staged, but refreshing and natural. The Danish people love seeing how much the children of the royal family are growing up in front of their eyes.

And the children of the Danish royal family have grown up so much already: Prince Christian is now 14 years old and is almost taller than his father Frederik. The 13-year-old Isabella has already become a little fashionista and the two youngest children Vincent and Josephine will soon be out of elementary school.

It won't be too long before Christian can take part in his first official royal engagements. He is second in the line of succession for the Danish throne and will succeed his father Prince Frederik when the time comes!
