It was one of the most troubling moments of the Oprah interview: Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan accused an unnamed family member of making a racist comment about the colour of their son Archie's skin.

Since the infamous TV special in March, we haven't learned for certain which member of the Royal Family made the alleged remark, but there is now speculation that Harry could identify that person in his upcoming memoir.

Prince Harry revealing racist royal in his new memoir?

Prince Harry, of course, is writing a lucrative memoir that will be released in late 2022. The exact contents aren't yet known, but The Sun reported this week that royal experts "fear" he will name the "racist" in the book.

You'll recall that Harry and Meghan told Oprah Winfrey they would never reveal the relative who made the comment, but Harry is apparently facing pressure to do so in his memoir.

Will Prince Harry's new book reveal the "racist" in the Royal Family?

Harry received a multi-million dollar advance, and insiders told The Sun he is under "extreme pressure to identify the family member he alleges made racist remarks."

But it remains unclear if Harry has changed his mind since he insisted to Oprah that he wouldn't name names. A previous report had also said the Duke and Duchess considered naming the person during the Oprah interview but decided against it.

The "racist royal" and Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview

In the interview, Meghan told Oprah that, within the Royal Family, there were "concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie's] skin might be when he was born."

This was relayed to her by Harry, who confirmed the story to Oprah and said he was "shocked" when it happened.

The Palace hasn't yet followed up on its initial statement about the claims of racism, where they said they will investigate but that "recollections may vary." Prince William also diminished the accusations and said the royals "are not a racist family."

Just one insider has put their name behind a claim of which royal allegedly made the remarks about Archie: Lady Colin Campbell said it was Princess Anne, but she described it as a misunderstanding exaggerated by Harry and Meghan.

In any case, it's a storyline to watch as we approach the release of Prince Harry's book. So far, he's said that it will be "a firsthand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful."
