Prince Andrew settled in for time with family this week just hours after he was sued for sexual assault.

On Tuesday, the disgraced royal was once again welcomed in by his family at Balmoral Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II is currently staying. The Duke typically visits in August, so it's unclear if the trip was sparked by the new lawsuit or if it was prearranged.

Beyond the Queen, it's also unclear if other royals are at the Scottish residence, but the Duke of York was joined by Sarah Ferguson for his Balmoral stay.

Prince Andrew drove himself to the royal estate, with his ex-wife riding in the backseat of his Range Rover, as seen in new photos published by Daily Mail.

The British newspaper noted that the Duke normally flies to Balmoral on a private jet, but he appears to have "taken steps" to avoid being photographed on this journey.

He may have used a different airport than usual or possibly drove for the entirety of the trip, but he was still pictured arriving at Balmoral nonetheless.

Prince Andrew sued by Virginia Giuffre for sexual assault

Prince Andrew has yet to publicly address the new lawsuit that was filed against him in New York this week.

On Monday, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein's child sex trafficking ring, sued the Duke of York for sexually assaulting her when she was 17.

"I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me," said Giuffre, whose new lawsuit has thrust Prince Andrew's alleged sex crimes back into the spotlight.

The royal has always denied wrongdoing amid his scandal over connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and allegations of sexually abusing a minor.

But he still stepped back from his royal work in early 2020 following the scandal, and he's been limited to a select few public appearances since then.

We'll see if the Duke and his team issue a response to the latest round of serious accusations.
