Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla's most recent engagement was of special significance for the royal family! As Entertainment Tonight shares, Charles and Camilla visited Berlin on Sunday after the country's president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, invited them to the Central Remembrance Ceremony— marking the first time royals made an appearance at the event!

Charles and Camilla make first overseas trip since pandemic

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla's trip to Germany for the occasion came at an especially significant time, since this year commemorated the 75th anniversary of World War I coming to an end. It's also the first time Charles and Camilla have attended an event overseas since the coronavirus pandemic first started earlier this year.

Entertainment Tonight shares that Charles and Camilla's itinerary saw them first visit the Neue Watch Memorial to attend a wreath-laying ceremony there alongside Steinmeier and his wife, First Lady Elke Buedenbender. Then, the royal couple made their way to the German parliament in order to attend the Central Remembrance Ceremony, which Charles spoke at!

While this trip was their first overseas in months, Charles and Camilla hosted French president Emmanuel Macron in London back in June shortly after they returned from their 3-month lockdown. And as Entertainment Tonight mentions, the royal couple also recently helped to facilitate Remembrance Day ceremonies in their home country!
