The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be welcoming their first child into the world at the end of April or beginning of May this year. Excitement levels reached a fever pitch when rumours started to abound that the newlyweds would be having twins, but while twins would be cute in the extreme, Kensington Palace would have announced that Meghan were expecting twins when they first announced the pregnancy.

Will the royal baby be a boy or a girl?

Harry and Meghan have kept schtum so far on whether their first child will be a boy or a girl, but betting agencies agree that the public believes we will be welcoming a new royal princess into the world come spring. Whilst in Australia, Prince Harry told a fan that he hoped that the baby was a girl, so who knows? Maybe the British public is onto something!

The bets are definitely on when it comes to baby names! Victoria, Diana, Alice and Grace are all frontrunners if the baby is a girl, as is James if its a boy.

Where will the royal baby live?

Whatever name Harry and Meghan eventually choose their first-born will spend his or her first months in Frogmore Cottage, Windsor. The Sussexes announced that they would be moving out of Kensington Palace in November 2018 and extensive renovation work is being carried out on the cottage to make it royal ready.

Will the royal baby be delivered at St. Mary's?

As Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan hope to be living in Frogmore Cottage by the time the baby arrives, Meghan may choose to deliver the new royal addition at Frimley Park Hospital, which is thirty minutes away from Windsor by car. Both Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to their children in the Linda Wing of St Mary's Hospital, but it is nearly an hour away from Windsor, a journey that could take even longer if traffic is heavy.

The Queen will be there the same day

Wherever the new royal baby is delivered, a visit from the Queen is likely to be imminent. Like any great-grandmother excited to meet a new great-grandchild, the Queen has usually William and Kate's children within the first few days.

Now, all there is left to do is wait!
