Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have been awarded a unique prize from the Population Matters charity. A spokesman for the group announced the "Special Award" this week.
The reason for the award is the couple's family planning: they've consciously chosen to have only two children for the sake of the environment. Prince Harry explained this decision in a Vogue interview back in 2019.

Population Matters, which gave Harry and Meghan the award, is a British environmental sustainability charity. Announcing the Sussexes as the winners of the Special Award, a spokesman said:
"In choosing and publicly declaring their intention to limit their family to two, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are helping to ensure a better future for their children and providing a role model for other families."
The spokesman continued: "Having a smaller family reduces our impact on the Earth, and provides a better chance for all our children, their children and future generations to flourish on a healthy planet.
"We commend the Duke and Duchess for taking this enlightened decision, and for affirming that a smaller family is also a happy family."
In his 2019 Vogue interview, Prince Harry justified the two-child decision by explaining how environmental conservation has always been a priority in his life.
But, now that he's a father himself, it's an even greater matter of the heart to preserve for future generations. So the Duke and Duchess decided to have just two children.
They had their son Archie in 2019, and Meghan gave birth to their second child, daughter Lilibet Diana, on June 4, 2021.
