Prince Harry left self-isolation today for a very special reason.

Today was the Duke's final day self-isolating after arriving in the UK to unveil a Princess Diana statue on July 1. But his first order of business was to surprise sick children from the WellChild Awards, which he did at a special event in London today.

Prince Harry left Windsor for Kew Gardens in London, where he met with the 2021 WellChild Award winners at a garden party. Photos show the Duke chatting and posing with the brave kids, who have serious illnesses and health conditions.

The Duke of Sussex is patron of the WellChild Awards, and he also made a statement today on fatherhood and the importance of the charity. He said:

"Now as a father of two, I feel all the more connected, inspired and in awe of the resilience of these families, who power through indescribable challenges with the support of WellChild."

Prince Harry done self-isolation before Diana statue event

Earlier on Wednesday, Prince Harry had been photographed driving away from Windsor to attend a top-secret outing, which turned out to be the garden party for WellChild.

A source also told The Sun that Prince Harry's attendance at the event was "kept a complete secret and it was an amazing moment when he surprised those in attendance."

The event was held outdoors to allow more attendees under the UK's COVID-19 policy. The Duke arrived in the UK early on Friday and finished five days of self-isolation before attending today's WellChild event.

He'll follow that up with another emotional outing tomorrow: the long-awaited unveiling of a Princess Diana statue, marking what would've been her 60th birthday.

Harry will reunite with Prince William at the ceremony, and it's now also been reported that the feuding brothers are planning to meet privately after the event.
