Jennifer Aniston Joins Instagram and Brings Her 'Friends' Together In First Post
This year's WellChild Awards was a very different and meaningful experience for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Prince Harry spoke at the awards and opened up about how this time last year, he and Meghan were expecting their first child together but they had to keep it a secret. As he was about to talk about what they were feeling about being first-time parents, he broke down in tears.
Prince Harry Gets Emotional During Speech
"Last year, when my wife and I attended, we knew we were expecting our first child - no one else did at the time, but we did - and I remember..." before his eyes welled up in tears. Prince Harry then took a brief pause while the audience supportively applauded him. "I remember squeezing Meghan's hand so tight during the awards, both of us thinking what it would be like to be parents one day. And more so, what it would be like to do everything we could to protect and help our child should they be born with immediate challenges or become unwell over time."

Prince Harry continued, "and now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heartstrings in a way I could have never understood until I had a child of my own." The WellChild Awards is the couple's most emotional event of the year and Harry has been a patron of WellChild since 2007. The event celebrates the beautiful and inspiring qualities of the United Kingdom's seriously ill young people.
WellChild was one of the four charities that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to give a generous donation made by the public on the occasion of the birth of their son, Baby Archie on May 6th, 2019.
He is now 65 years old!
