Prince William and Kate Middleton have embarked on their three-day-long journey throughout Britain! As the Royal couple left Sunday evening from London's Euston Station, they arrived in Scotland on Monday morning. 

Prince William and Duchess Kate Begin Their Royal Tour

Edinburgh, Scotland is Will and Kate's first stop on their Royal Tour as they make their 1,250-mile train journey around Britain. The purpose of this specific tour is to thank those who have worked tirelessly against the coronavirus pandemic. According to Express UK:

"The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to shining a spotlight on the incredible work that has been done across the country throughout this difficult year and to sharing their gratitude on behalf of the nation for all those supporting their local communities ahead of the Christmas holidays," a spokesperson for Kensington Palace stated. 

The pair will also be putting a focus on the arts sector, as well, since they have also been hit hard by the pandemic.

In Edinburgh, Will and Kate have were greeted with bagpipes and met with paramedics and staff of the Scottish Ambulance Service, who are representatives of the NHS. According to People, the chair of NHS Charities Together Ian Lush had stated,

"The involvement of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will inspire the public even more to support the amazing NHS staff and volunteers who have done so much to keep us safe and well this year. We can't wait to start working with the Duke and Duchess, the potential is so exciting."

In total, Will and Kate will be making 10 stops throughout their Royal Tour and will visit care homes, food banks, and essential workers from a distance. They will be visiting England, Scotland, and Wales!
