Duchess Kate and Prince William recently got up close and personal with a very special animal! As Hello! shares, Thursday saw the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge head to Clitheroe Community Hospital, where they met a puppy who will soon take on an important role.

Duchess Kate calls cockapoo puppy "so sweet"

Duchess Kate and Prince William both looked stylish as they stepped out for their latest engagement. Kate wore a camel-coloured coat over a brown turtleneck, while William sported his often-favoured navy suit and maroon collared shirt look.

Of course, the star of the day was none other than Alfie! The adorable cockapoo, who is training to be a therapy dog, certainly brought smiles to William and Kate's faces. "Our dog is going to be very upset," Kate was overheard joking after she had a snuggle with the pup, referring to the family's cocker spaniel.

As Hello! mentions, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the hospital on behalf of their patronage NHS Charities Together, and congratulated staff for their ongoing efforts. They have been championing frontline workers throughout the pandemic, even launching mental health service Our Frontline to support them.
