Wednesday July 1st marked Canada Day, and Prince William as well as his wife Duchess Catherine, celebrated in a very special way. The Duke and Duchess marked the Canadian holiday with a video call to staff members from Fraser Health's Surrey Memorial Hospital in British Columbia and heard about which challenges they are facing in times of the pandemic.

Prince William: "So well done to all of you..."

During the call, William and Kate, who were speaking with the hospital staff from their Norfolk home, emphasized how "amazing" the work of all health care workers in Canada has been and that they want to visit again, and soon. William said: "I just wanted to just touch base and say how proud we are of all of you and everyone on the front line who have led the way, very stoically, very bravely and put patient care right at the top of the list, and done a fantastic job."

"So well done to all of you and I hope Catherine and I can come and visit you guys one day and say that to you in person," with Kate adding: "It's an amazing role that you're playing and a hugely tough one as well so we're in huge admiration for everything you're doing."

So it sounds like Canadians can gear up for another great visit by the royal couple, who first came to Canada as newlyweds in July 2011 and visited again in 2016. Get more news and the latest updates on the royal family right HERE!
