Prince William continues to carry on his late mother's legacy.
Today, the Duke visited The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton as part of a ground-breaking ceremony for a new cancer centre. At the hospital, he greeted staff and patients, and laid the foundation stone for the forthcoming Oak Cancer Centre.

Prince William's hospital visit carried special meaning, as his late mother, Princess Diana, had performed the same act at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea 30 years earlier.
At Wednesday's ground-breaking ceremony, Prince William also spoke on his mother's Chelsea hospital ceremony in 1990, the challenges facing healthcare workers during the pandemic, and the importance of the new cancer centre.

Prince William, President of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation
Back in 2007, Prince William became President of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, a role once filled by Princess Diana. Queen Elizabeth II is Patron of the Trust. During the ground-breaking ceremony, he also launched The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity's public appeal to raise funds for the facility's construction. According to Hello!, the charity has so far raised £62 million of the £70 million required.
Earlier this week, Prince William stepped out with Duchess Kate as she launched her Hold Still photography exhibit in London.
