Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are celebrating another year of marriage in a heartwarming way! That's because ahead of their anniversary on Friday, the Royal Family released a brand-new photo of the couple commemorating the occasion with a special card!

Queen and Prince Philip delighted by great-grandkids' card

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip announced their engagement on July 9, 1947 and have been married for 73 years, which is pretty incredible! The picture shared by the Royal Family on social media sees the two sitting on a sofa, all smiles as they read a colourful card— which is from their great-grandchildren!

"In the photograph, Her Majesty and His Royal Highness are seen looking at an anniversary card made by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis," the caption explains, "alongside other cards and letters sent by well-wishers."

Queen Elizabeth II spending lockdown with Prince Philip

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's new commemorative picture was taken at the Oak Room in Windsor Castle this week. The queen spent a short period of time at the castle without Philip in October, but was recently seen rejoining him at the Sandringham Estate earlier this month as the U.K. enters lockdown once again.

The royals are also said to have plans in the works to celebrate another milestone next year, as Prince Philip will be celebrating his 100th birthday in June! See the new photo of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip released in honour of their anniversary here!
