The Bidens arrived around 5 p.m. local time and enjoyed their evening cup of tea with Queen Elizabeth inside the castle. Upon leaving Windsor, President Biden was complimentary of the Queen and fondly told reporters: "She reminded me of my mother."
The American leader added that the Queen asked him about China's Xi Jinping and Russia's Vladimir Putin, with whom Biden will meet next week following his travels for the 2021 G7 Summit.
The Bidens had earlier met the 95-year-old ruler on Friday, when she and senior Royals hosted the G7 leaders at a reception in Cornwall. At that gathering, the Queen made headlines with a joke that had the politicians laughing during a photoshoot.
Queen Elizabeth meets her 12th US president (out of 13)
Joe Biden is the 13th American president of Queen Elizabeth II's reign, and she's met all of them except for Lyndon B. Johnson over that time.
Biden's 2021 visit follows predecessor Donald Trump's meetings with the Queen, which are mostly memorable for their awkward moments.
It was also a busy weekend for the Queen. She had travelled to Cornwall for Friday's reception with the G7 leaders before returning to Windsor for Trooping the Colour 2021 on Saturday and finally hosting the Bidens on Sunday evening.
