Diana Francis Spencer was born on July 1st, 1961. In 1977 when she was 16, she met her future husband. Four years later, Diana's marriage to Prince Charles made her Princess of Wales. She was the first Englishwoman in over 300 years to marry the first in line to the British throne. Charles and Diana had two sons: Prince William, the current Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, the current Duke of Sussex. Diana became very popular as a royal and the press attention became quite paralyzing.

Charles and Diana's marriage fell apart and in August 1996, the divorce was finalized. Because of Diana's popularity, her tragic death in a car accident in Paris on August 31st of the next year became a "where were you" topic in common conversation.
More than one million bouquets of flowers were placed in front of Kensington Palace. During her life and after her death, Diana has been portrayed quite a number of times in TV and movies.
