Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles were in festive moods this Easter.

For the holiday weekend, the Palace released two official new portraits of the Queen and the Prince of Wales enjoying a nature walk. The pictures, with stunning springtime views, were taken at Frogmore House, a royal residence in Windsor.

The first portrait was shared to the Royal Family's Instagram page, where the royal mother and son are seen pausing their walk and having a laugh before a small bridge. They also pose against a spectacular view of bright daffodils and cherry trees, fully in bloom.

Then on the Clarence House page, the second photo shows the 94-year-old monarch and the 72-year-old heir to the throne from a tighter view. "The Queen and The Prince of Wales enjoy a walk in the grounds of Frogmore House, Windsor," the post is captioned.

The new Easter portraits come after the royals have begun to ease their way back into engagements. We saw the Queen, who has now received her second dose of the vaccine, make a rare new appearance in Surrey earlier this week, while Prince Charles also recently travelled to Greece with Camilla on official duty.
