The British Royal Family have a number of Christmas traditions. One of them is the pre-Christmas lunch hosted by the Queen (92) at Buckingham Palace. This year the Queen threw open the palace's doors on 19th December and Prince Harry, Prince William, Duchess Kate, Duchess Meghan and a number of other close relatives of the Queen all arrived at the Palace ready to enjoy the festivities.

Prince Charles Arrives Without His Wife

However, one person was missing: Duchess Camilla (71). Prince Charles (70) arrived without his wife. Of course, the grandfather-of-three was not alone, he had his sons Prince William (36) and Prince Harry (34) to keep him company. Camilla's absence set tongues wagging, however.

The reasons that Camilla could not attend the Queen's Christmas lunch was not due to any royal arguments, but instead due to the fact that Camilla was feeling unwell. The Palace told the Express that the seventy-one-year-old is suffering from a bad cold at the moment and so could not partake in the festivities.

Camilla was not the only royal missing though. Princess Eugenie (28) was also not able to attend, her husband, Jack Brooksbank, is also currently unwell.
