Prince William (36) and Duchess Kate (36) visited Leicester to pay their respects to the victims of the helicopter crash that happened near Leicester City's stadium on the 27th October 2018.
Five people died in the crash. Along with former Leicester City football club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's family, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge laid flowers at the site of the crash.
Prince William left a personal note
Football fanatic Prince William, who is also the president of the Football Association (FA), had known chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha for years. The Cambridges met Vichai's wife, son and daughter and left a condolence card along with flowers at the crash site, which read, "To Vichai and all those who died in this terrible tragedy, you will be dearly missed. Our sincere condolences to the city of Leicester".
Prince William gave a moving speech praising Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's charitable work. William and Kate visited the University of Leicester afterwards to meet representatives of the local charities and educational programmes that were supported by Srivaddhanaprabha and the club.
