It turns out Kiefer Sutherland misses "Jack Bauer" just as much as diehard 24 fans!

The 53-year-old actor reflected on his time with the Fox action series in a new interview with Forbes. He revealed that he's not only open to returning to a future 24 project, but he's been pushing to play "Jack Bauer" in a new movie. Here are his comments.

24: Kiefer Sutherland on returning to "Jack Bauer" role

Sutherland recently spoke to Forbes ahead of the debut of his new Quibi series, The Fugitive. During the conversation, the actor first revealed his openness to making a second season of his new Quibi show. But, "having said that," he added, "I've always left the door slightly ajar for 24 if someone comes up with a great idea."

And it turns out that Sutherland has long dreamed of making a 24 movie. "I've been banging my head against a brick wall for a movie for so long that I’ve got a concussion," he joked.

"Honestly, the form more 24 would take doesn’t matter to me as much as the quality of the story. If someone comes up with a great story that can be told in two hours, then we're going to make a movie, but if someone comes up with a great story that could be 24 hours, we'll do the show."

New 24 movie or TV season?

Sutherland portrayed CTU agent "Jack Bauer" for eight seasons on 24 between 2001 and 2010, as well as for the season 9 revival, 24: Live Another Day, in 2014.

"As an actor, 24 remains one of the most dynamic experiences I've ever had," he told Forbes. "There's been nine seasons, and I think it rests in a credible place. The difficulty is you don't ever want to do anything that is going to damage that."

The popular star's new series, The Fugitive, landed on streamer Quibi on Aug. 3. His enthusiasm for a second season, and for any version of a future 24 project, bodes well for Kiefer's fanbase! He'd most recently been portraying "President Thomas Kirkman" on Designated Survivor.
