Audrey Hepburn is the latest Hollywood icon to have a movie made about her, and she will be portrayed by none other than Rooney Mara! As Deadline confirmed on Thursday, Mara has been cast in the upcoming project, which also has another buzzworthy name attached.

Mara to help produce Hepburn biopic

Mara is well known for starring in Carol and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, both of which she received Oscar nominations for. Looking at the actress, it's not hard to see why she was cast as Hepburn! She bears a striking resemblance to the classic star with her delicate features, especially when she wears her hair up in Hepburn's trademark bun.

As Deadline shares, Mara isn't the only Oscar-nominated talent involved in the project, which Michael Mitnick is attached to write. That's because it will be helmed by Italian director Luca Guadagnino, known for his 2017 film Call Me by Your Name. And while the currently untitled biopic is being produced by Apple Studios, Mara will also have credit as a producer as well!

At this point in time it has not been revealed what point in Hepburn's life the biopic will focus on, or when it is expected to be released. Mara's career is certainly at a high point right now, with the actress expected to receive awards nominations after returning to the big screen for her latest film, Nightmare Alley.
