Fast Times at Ridgemont High is coming to you live from the homes of some of your favourite celebs! As Entertainment Tonight reports, many Hollywood stars have been tapped to take part in a live table read of the iconic 1982 film, which is being organized by comedian Dane Cook.

Fast Times table read will be entirely spontaneous

Fast Times at Ridgemont High's live table read event— which has been titled Feelin' A-Live— will be completely unrehearsed! Brad Pitt is the latest Hollywood star to join the cast, which includes the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Jennifer Aniston, and Matthew McConaughey. Julia Roberts, Shia LaBeouf, Morgan Freeman, and Henry Golding will all be participating as well!

In exciting news for fans of the movie, one of the original cast members will also be involved! Sean Penn played "Jeff Spicoli" in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and has been confirmed to be taking part in this special event. At this point in time, it hasn't been announced who will be reading for each character, but it would certainly be a nice homage if Penn reprised his role!

Fast Times table read event to donate proceeds to charity

The Fast Times at Ridgemont High live table read was originally slotted for Thursday night, but Cook explained why it was changed to the day after. "Upon realizing Feelin' A-Live was programmed opposite the DNC's final night, we felt it was best to let the convention have its own evening, and then we’ll have ours," he said.

"Luckily, we were able to shift around some schedules -- and add some stellar new cast members -- so we're thrilled to now get to kick off your weekend with a Friday night broadcast."

All of the proceeds from Feelin' A-Live will be donated towards humanitarian organization CORE as well as the REFORM Alliance, which is focused on criminal justice reform. Anyone who wants to follow along with the event on social media can do so by using the hashtag #FastTimesLive, and donations are also encouraged!

Fast Times screenwriter Crowe excited for "2020 take"

Fast Times at Ridgemont High's director Amy Heckerling made a statement about Feelin' A-Live, sharing that she's in full support! "I'm honored that so many talented, wonderful people are willing to get together to celebrate our movie, and to create their own special version of it," she said. "And I'm a huge fan of Sean. He has such a big heart and I fully support CORE and all of his causes."

The movie's screenwriter, Cameron Crowe, shared his excitement for the event as well! "Sean brought magic to us on day one, and he is still bringing that magic to the world," he enthused of Penn. "We are so excited to be a part of this 2020 take on Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Thank you to this cast, and to Sean, for always honoring the best things in life, love and creativity. It is, as a great man once said, totally awesome."

Feelin' A-Live is set to take place on Friday, Aug. 21 at 8 PM ET/ 5 PM PT. Fans wanting to watch the A-list table read can tune into the event through CORE's official Facebook and TikTok pages, as well as LiveXLive!
