The last time there was a Gavin & Stacey Christmas special was all the way back in 2008! The show covered the long-distance relationship between "Gavin," played by Mathew Horne, and "Stacey," portrayed by Joanna Page, who eventually get engaged and later married. The special ended off with "Neil "Smithy" Smith" (James Corden) and "Vanessa "Nessa" Jenkins" (Ruth Jones) patching up their relationship, as well as "Gavin" and "Stacey" expecting their first child.

What fans should expect for Gavin and Stacey

The original cast is set to return, except for "Smithy’s" younger sister "Rudi" (Sheridan Smith). She had told The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio2 that she wishes she'd be in the show, but has rather stated, "no, I’m not going to be in it. I don’t think, anyway."

From "Stacey" herself!

According to BBC, you can also expect the couples to spend their Christmas in Wales this year, while one particular family member would rather spend it in Essex. We'll also see how "Gavin" and "Stacey" are managing their 'baby' - he's now 10 - as a married couple with their first child.

The special will show on Christmas day at 8:30pm, and will be an hour-long. We definitely can't wait... the final countdown is on!
