This exciting news pleased many fans of Game of Thrones: The popular fantasy series is getting a spinoff. The series with the title House of the Dragon should is set to premiere next year. Filming has recently started, and we now have the official first look!

House of the Dragon: HBO publishes three pictures of production

HBO's Instagram account published brand new photos of House of the Dragon with five actors from the main cast. In the first photo, Emma D'Arcy (28) as "Rhaenyra" and Matt Smith (38) as "Daemon Targaryen" can be seen in conversation. The second photo shows Steve Toussaint (56) standing on a rock. In the background the wide view over the sea - matching his role "The Sea Snake".

The third and last shot shows Olivia Cooke (27) and Rhys Ifans (53), who embody the father-daughter team "Alicent Hohenturm" and "Otto Hohenturm". After many fans of Game of Thrones were disappointed in the finale of the series, fans took to the comments with mixed reviews of the new spinoff. 

Although House of the Dragon is a spinoff, the series takes place 300 years before the story in Game of Thrones. The prequel is all about the "Targaryen" realm. It is not yet known exactly when the series will appear, but it's expected to premiere in 2022. Stay tuned!
