Jerry Seinfeld has clarified his infamous "cancelled" interview with Larry King.

King, the legendary TV host and broadcaster, died at age 87 on Saturday, after which Seinfeld paid tribute and made it clear that his 2007 interview with King was just a "bit."  He tweeted: "Always loved Larry King and will miss him. The 'canceled' bit was just me having fun with his little mistake. Nothing more. Or less."

In the Larry King Live clip, King was talking Seinfeld with his guest, referencing how the show ended in 1998 after nine seasons. "You gave it up, right?" King asked. "They didn't cancel you — you cancelled them?"

Seinfeld responded incredulously, in a moment that gained notoriety for being awkward, even if the comedian was joking. "You're not aware of this? You think I got cancelled?" Seinfeld said. "Are you under the impression I got cancelled? I thought that was pretty well-documented. Is this still CNN?"

"Yeah, no, I went off the air," he explained. "I was the No. 1 show on television, Larry. Do you know who I am? 75 million viewers, last episode." King interjected with a wry smile, "Boy, don't take it so bad."

Seinfeld added, "Well, it's a big difference between being canceled and being No. 1." King replied, "Okay, I'm sorry!" The pair then exchanged barbs as King cut to commercial.
