Currently, Jim Parsons is one of the actors who always attracts attention with his new projects. Whether in a supporting role in the miniseries Hollywood or as the narrating voice in the series Young Sheldon or even in the leading role in The Boys from the Band (2020), inspired by the play that he starred in on Broadway. However, there was a time when the actor went to all possible casting calls looking for the opportunity to act on television. One of them, which was revealed recently, was to star in the series The Office.

Jim Parsons auditioned for The Office

On a panel to promote the series Call Me Kat, of which he is executive producer, Jim Parsons revealed that he auditioned to play a character on the series The Office, according to People.

Although he did not elaborate on which role he chose, the actor described his negative thoughts about the project, which he described as a "stupid" idea.

"I was like, 'How stupid, it’s about an office'. If America wanted their own office show, they would have already made it by now," he joked.

The fact that Parsons was not hired for The Office does not mean that the actor was unlucky, especially considering that shortly afterward he was cast as "Sheldon Cooper" in the popular geek comedy series, The Big Bang Theory.

In fact, Parsons' most recent project - Call Me Kat – wouldn't be possible without The Big Bang Theory because that's where he met the star and co-producer of this new series, Mayim Bialik.

Based on the British series Miranda, the project tells the story of "Kat", a 39-year-old woman who seeks to demonstrate her happiness despite the constant obstacles of society and her family.

Call Me Kat, which Parsons serves as executive producer, will premiere on Fox early next year.
