Gunda is a new documentary from Russian filmmaker Viktor Kossakovsky. The documentary argues for veganism as it explores the sentience of pig life.

Joker actor Joaquin Phoenix's involvement with Gunda

Joaquin Phoenix got involved with Gunda after his speech at the 2020 Oscars. Phoenix touched on animal rights when he accepted the Oscar for Best Actor, so Kossakovsky was encouraged to show Gunda to the actor.

The Joker actor appreciated the film and joined as an executive producer. The attachment of Phoenix's name to Gunda is also helping it receive more press.
