Kate Hudson will be returning to the small screen for her next project! As Entertainment Tonight shares, Hudson revealed that she would be joining the cast of the Apple TV+ show Truth Be Told for season 2, and this is what we know so far!

Hudson to play "Micah" on Truth Be Told

Hudson's new role in Truth Be Told has already been revealed! The new season of the drama will see her playing "Micah Keith," acting opposite series star Octavia Spencer— who plays true-crime podcaster "Poppy Scoville-Parnell". Hudson's character is said to be "a lifestyle guru," as well as "Poppy's" "longtime friend".

"I'm gonna do one season and I'm excited," she told Entertainment Tonight's Keltie Knight of her new role, which she said came about "unexpectedly". She also shared her feelings about her upcoming gig! "It's something that I'm excited to do, and it'll be interesting to go back to work," Hudson shared. "It's been a second, so it'll be fun."

Hudson last acted on television back in 2013

Hudson being cast in Truth Be Told is especially exciting news since she hasn't acted on television in some time! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, her last small-screen roles came in Larry David's 2013 comedy Clear History. She also guest-starred in season 4 of the dramedy Glee around the same time.

Truth Be Told is produced by Octavia Spencer, as well as Reese Witherspoon. Season 1 of the Apple TV+ show is available now, and even though the release date for season 2 hasn't been announced yet, Hudson's fans can't wait to see her back in action in her new role!
