Lethal Weapon could very well be returning to the big screen after all! That's because the film's producer, Dan Lin, recently alluded to the fact that plans are in the works to make the fifth and final film in the popular crime franchise!

Lethal Weapon 5 might be coming!

“We’re trying to make the last Lethal Weapon movie. And Dick Donner’s coming back. The original cast is coming back," he was quoted as saying during this year's Producers' Roundtable for The Hollywood Reporter. "And it’s just amazing. The story itself is very personal to him. Mel and Danny are ready to go, so it’s about the script".

Lin's comments suggest that while the Lethal Weapon cast is eager to continue reprising their roles, having a good script is ultimately what whether or not the project will come to fruition hinges upon. That said, if Lethal Weapon 5 does become a reality, it will be the cinematic conclusion fans have been waiting decades for. The first Lethal Weapon movie came out in 1987 and the most recent, Lethal Weapon 4, was released in 1998!
