The royal drama of 2021 will be getting a film treatment on the Lifetime channel. On Wednesday, Deadline reported that the American TV network is producing a third film in their Harry & Meghan series, this one titled Escaping the Palace.

Lifetime's 2021 Harry & Meghan movie: Escaping the Palace

Escaping the Palace will cover the latest in Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's story, which this year culminated in their leaving royal work and telling all in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Deadline writes that the Lifetime movie will show "what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie."

The new Lifetime TV movie comes after two earlier projects, 2018's Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance and 2019's Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal. Different actors portrayed the royals in both films, and casting for the third entry in the film series is reportedly underway now.

As with The Crown and The Prince, royals including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have no involvement with Lifetime's TV movies about the family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed on to produce content with Netflix, but we're still waiting to see what they do with the streamer.
