The news of Culkin joining American Horror Story broke when the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, posted a cryptic video to Instagram. It simply features the names of cast members in front of a discoloured ocean scene.

Series regulars including Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson are also named in the video. Culkin's new role in the acclaimed anthology series is unknown.
