NCIS: Hawaii - Preview first trailer with star Vanessa Lachey

Our first look at NCIS: Hawaii arrived on Wednesday night, and it opens by building anticipation with shots of the franchise's biggest stars.

Mark Harmon, LL Cool J, Chris O'Donnell, and Daniela Ruah are among the fan-favourites seen in the montage before Vanessa Lachey, the NCIS: Hawaii team leader, is introduced. Watch below!

Lachey is playing Special Agent in Charge "Jane Tennant" in the series centred on the NCIS: Pearl Harbor team. In the preview, the actress chats about her role and the new show.

"I am the first female lead of the NCIS franchise, and I don't take that lightly," Lachey says. "I'm excited to bring a different layer to this role and hopefully inspire this next generation of girls and women."

Lachey goes on to describe her Special Agent, who she says is "the mother of a 15-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl — and that is real life, juggling life and love and work."

"What I'm interested to show is the depth to the people of Hawaii," she adds. "There's so much beauty there, there's so much culture there. And hopefully I can portray that to everyone and show the beautiful side of Hawaii."

The clip closes with "Gibbs" (Mark Harmon) saying, "Alright, saddle up."

The NCIS: Hawaii cast for season 1 so far

So far, NCIS: Hawaii has confirmed four cast members for the new series. Lachey is leading the Pearl Harbor team, flanked by actors Jason Antoon as "Ernie" and Yasmine Al-Bustami as "Lucy."

Just this week, a fourth cast member, Noah Mills was also announced. The actor and model will be playing "Jesse" in season 1. NCIS: Hawaii joins the franchise after NCIS: New Orleans was cancelled earlier this season.

Watch for the series to debut this fall and air on CBS Mondays at 10 p.m.
