Who knew chess could be so interesting? Netflix opened up about the numbers surrounding The Queen's Gambit, and reveals that it's been one of the biggest TV shows to come out!
On Monday, Netflix announced their appreciation for the show, sharing that it's become the biggest scripted limited series to date!
The Queen's Gambit a huge Netflix success
According to Netflix, The Queen's Gambit has reached an incredible amount of success, and has even achieved a new record!
According to the streaming platform, the show has been streamed over 62 million times, more than any other limited series.
The company released more information on the hit show, adding that it has ranked #1 in 63 countries, and made the top 10 list in over 90.
Not only has the show itself gained more notoriety, but the novel has also now become a New York Times Best Seller. Additionally, Google searches for "how to play chess" have skyrocketed.
The show was created by Scott Frank, and stars emerging actress Anya Taylor-Joy as an incredibly smart chess prodigy in the 1960s. Not only must she overcome a male-dominated world, but all the while she also is battling a drug and alcohol addiction.
