Priscilla Presley On New Elvis Movie Casting Actor Austin Butler

Priscilla Presley just shared her thoughts on the actor playing her late ex-husband in the new film Elvis. Austin Butler, 30, is set to portray Elvis Presley in the highly-anticipated Baz Luhrmann biopic Elvis in 2022.

Priscilla previously said she was unsure of the casting choice, but she offered a new opinion in a recent interview at Elvis Week.

If you're behind on the news, there is a new Elvis Presley biopic coming out next year from director Baz Luhrmann. It's been years in the making, and it finally began filming in early 2020, only to get put on hold due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

This is 30-year-old American actor Austin Butler, who will play the title role in Elvis. Priscilla Presley, the ex-wife of Elvis, previously said only, "I don't know," when asked if she felt Butler was right for the role.

But Presley offered a fresh opinion of the actor this month while speaking at Elvis Week. And it turns out she's now looking forward to seeing Butler portray The King. Her comments on the next slide...

According to the Daily Express, Priscilla said that Butler is a "nice-looking boy" and he has "good features for sure." But she then added the joke: "But again no one ever looked like Elvis! Sorry!"

While speaking at Elvis Week, Priscilla reportedly also revealed that she's been kept in the dark about the new film by director Baz Luhrmann, although he'd originally promised to show her the script...

"I had nothing to do with the film," Priscilla said, before she joked: "No! If it is good I had everything to do with it!" reported the Daily Express.

This is 23-year-old Australian actress Olivia DeJonge, who landed the part to play Priscilla Presley in Elvis. She's known from the horror film The Visit and Netflix's The Society.

She and Butler have a 7-year age difference, pretty close to Elvis and Priscilla's 10-year gap...

And here's Austin Butler again. The 30-year-old has been a TV actor since he was a child, and he recently played Manson Family member "Tex Watson" in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
