Gina Rodríguez plays "Jane Villanueva", a young woman whose meticulous life plans take a sudden turn when she becomes pregnant from accidental artificial insemination. After several years of success in New York, Rodríguez landed a lead role in the film Go For It, for which she received the 2011 Imagen Award nomination. Rodríguez had her first co-starring role on the CBS series Eleventh Hour and also went on to work on many web series like Eden’s Court and No Names. The first studio film she made was Our Family Wedding with America Ferrera and the leading role in the film Supergirls. Since then she has participated as a guest actress in series such as The Mentalist, Happy Endings and Ten Things I Hate About You. Rodríguez is an advocate for the Latino community and is actively involved with the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts and with organizations NCLR, CHCI, NALIP, and Voto Latino.
