The Masked Singer has an exciting new twist in store for its fourth season— the debut of fan voting! As People confirms, the show has started production again, with contestants and crew observing health and safety protocol due to the coronavirus.

The Masked Singer to make fans part of virtual audience

The Masked Singer's fourth season began production earlier this week in Hollywood! As Deadline reports, some of the preventative measures that are in place to ensure contestant and crew safety include social distancing, temperature checks, and an increase in PPE equipment. The show has been working alongside the Health Department and local and state authorities to make things on set as safe as can be!

When The Masked Singer returns in September, there will also be a fun new component added to the show! That's because as People mentions, fans will be given the opportunity to vote on their favourite costumed contestants for the first time. As part of a virtual audience, they will be able to help decide which performers will continue on in the competition, which had previously been left up to the judges!

The Masked Singer hints at new costumed celebrities

The Masked Singer has also given fans a fun teaser that provides clues about the upcoming contestants in season 4! People reveals that in a video the show shared, some of the visual clues included a Queen Bee, vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms, sunglasses, and two keys— one with the number 34.

The video also showed a bowtie, Canadian maple leaf, baseball glove with a diamond, yin-yang symbol, gavel, stethoscope, numbers reading 11:11, and a postcard addressed to someone named Mel Rose.

As People shares, Nick Cannon will be back to host season 4 of The Masked Singer, along with judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke. We're excited to see what crazy costumes will be featured this time around, and which celebrities will end up being unmasked!
