Jamie Foxx is making his return to TV comedy this month on Netflix. In Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, Foxx will star in his first sitcom since The Jamie Foxx Show ended back in 2001. Here's what the new show is all about.

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!: Jamie Foxx's new Netflix series

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! is a Netflix Original series premiering worldwide on April 14. Foxx stars in the show as single dad "Brian" whose life is turned upside down when his teenage daughter "Sasha" moves in with him.

Netflix writes, "A single dad and cosmetics brand owner figures out fatherhood on the fly when his strong-minded teen daughter moves in with him." Here's the trailer, with some pretty solid jokes.

Joining Foxx in the cast are actress Kyla-Drew as his daughter "Sasha," David Alan Grier as his elderly father, and Porscha Coleman as his sister. Behind the camera, Foxx is also reunited with his Jamie Foxx Show collaborator Bentley Kyle Evans, while Ken Whittingham (black-ish) directs.

Jamie Foxx and daughter Corinne inspired Netflix comedy

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! is inspired by Foxx's real-life relationship with his daughter, Corine Fox, who is now 27 years old. Jamie, now 53, was 26 when he and an ex-girlfriend had Corine. Both Foxxes are executive producing the Netflix series.
