Wonder Woman 1984 director encourages fans to be safe

Jenkins took to social media to update fans on Wonder Woman 1984's release, which was recently postponed until December 25. "THE TIME HAS COME. At some point you have to choose to share any love and joy you have to give, over everything else," she tweeted. "We love our movie as we love our fans, so we truly hope that our film brings a little bit of joy and reprieve to all of you this holiday season."

"Watch it in theaters, where it is made safe to do so (check out the great work theaters have done to make it so!) and available in the safety of your home on HBOMAX where it is not," Jenkins continued. "Happy holidays to all of you. We hope you enjoy our film as much as we enjoyed making it."

Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot attend the premiere Of TNT's I Am The Night on January 24, 2019.

"Wonder Woman" herself, Gal Gadot, also shared her thoughts on the plan of action to release Wonder Woman 1984 next month! "It wasn't an easy decision and we never thought we'd have to hold onto the release for such a long time but Covid rocked all of our worlds," Gadot wrote on Twitter.

The actress then went on to echo Jenkins' sentiments about wanting to give fans something joyful this year. "We feel the movie has never been so relevant and we hope that it'll bring some joy, hope and love to your hearts," Gadot shared. "Wonder Woman 1984 is a special one for me and I can only hope it'll be as special to you too."

Gadot recently opened up about how playing the iconic hero has helped shape her own personality. She can also be seen in another film slated to be released next month, the murder mystery Death on the Nile. As for the future of the Wonder Woman franchise, Jenkins has shared that she's already mapped out plans for the third movie.
