Actress Christy Carlson Romano was struck by an errant shot while clay pigeon shooting in Texas. She was celebrating her husband Brendan Rooney's birthday on Friday when another participant "unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face," Romano shared in an Instagram video. Despite the frightening incident, she reassured her followers, saying, "I'm safe."

In the video, Romano showed the wound beneath her eye and other facial injuries. She revealed that the bullet "is still in there" and has not yet been removed. In her caption, she explained that the fragment behind her eye was "too risky" to surgically remove, but assured fans she could "see normally."
The actress expressed her deep gratitude to the first responders: "I’m very grateful to first responders as a whole. I mean, they’re just the most amazing, superhero people to take care of us at our most desperate times." Despite the trauma, Romano concluded: "I saw my life flash before my eyes and I’m telling you."
